Welcome to the Esse Beta

You’re part of a small, invite-only group helping us shape the very first version of Esse.

Esse is a personal executive assistant for families — still early, still evolving, and very much in learning mode. Your real-world usage and honest feedback will directly influence what we build next.

Thank you for being here.

Before You Begin

To get the full experience, you’ll need to link a Gmail account.

Esse monitors school and activity emails through Gmail to surface forms, deadlines, and action items automatically.

If you primarily use Microsoft / Outlook for school communication, some core features won’t be available yet.

  • To get started with Esse, navigate to https://app.esse-ai.co, and sign in. An Esse account will be created for you.

Esse currently supports the following sign-in method:

    • Sign in with Google

  • Once signing in, you will see a quick orientation.

This is just a quick set of screens to:

    • Explain what Esse does

    • Set expectations for this early beta

There’s no setup required here yet — just move through the screens at your own pace.

  • At the end of the orientation, you’ll have the option to link your Google Account. Once linked, Esse will start learning about your family and watching out for things like:

    • Calendar awareness

    • Email-based requests and tasks (depending on what you enable)

The more school and activity emails in your Gmail, the more useful Esse will be.

  • After setup, Esse has already started learning about your family - here’s how to see value right away:

    1. Review what Esse learned → Family
      You’ll land here after onboarding.
Take 10 seconds to confirm it look right.

    2. See what’s happening → Home

Go to Home to view your daily brief.

      This is where Esse summarizes:
      - What’s coming up
      - What needs attention
      - Any conflicts or timing issues

👉 Start here - This is the fastest way to understand your day.

You’ll also see a Personal Feed below — this is where Esse surfaces new updates as they happen (new events, tasks from emails, and changes).

If it’s empty at first, that’s normal — it fills in as Esse processes more activity.

    3. Check for tasks → Desk

Go to Desk to see things that need action. If you see anything, open one item — even dismissing the item as irrelevant helps Esse learn what matters and improve what it shows you.

If it’s empty, that usually means:
      - There’s nothing urgent right now, or
      - There isn’t much recent activity in your Gmail yet

    4. Add context → Planning

If your schedule looks empty, you can:
      - Add a few upcoming activities to your Google calendar
      - Or make sure your calendar is connected

This is how Esse becomes more useful over time.

(Optional) Stay in sync with your calendar

Esse creates an “Esse Calendar” in your Google account that combines events it finds and organizes for you.

      You can:
      - View it directly in Google Calendar, or
      - Add it to your preferred calendar app to stay up to date

This is helpful if you don’t regularly use Google Calendar, and becomes especially useful as Esse starts finding more events.

    You’ll know it’s working when:

    • Home shows a relevant summary of your day

    • Desk starts surfacing tasks or requests

    • Personal Feed updates with new activity
