1. Introduction
Esse ("Esse," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, store, and otherwise process information when you access or use the Esse website, mobile application, conversational artificial intelligence platform, software, application programming interfaces (APIs), and related products and services (collectively, the "Service").

2.3. Third-Party Integrations
If you choose to connect third-party accounts or services to the Service, we may collect information made available by those services in accordance with your authorization and the applicable third-party provider's policies. Depending on the integrations you enable, this may include email, calendar information, contacts, documents, tasks, or other information necessary to provide the features you request.
You may disconnect third-party integrations at any time through your account settings or the applicable third-party service, although doing so may limit certain functionality of the Service.

We may also store Outputs generated through the Service as part of your Account history, allowing you to access prior conversations and interactions unless you delete them or otherwise request their removal, subject to this Privacy Policy.
2.5. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
The Service is not intended to collect or process highly sensitive personal information unless expressly required for a particular feature of the Service. Esse may use aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you or any individual to analyze Service performance, improve functionality, enhance security and safety, develop new features, conduct internal research, and improve the quality and reliability of the Service.
If Esse offers a future program allowing users to voluntarily contribute certain information to improve the Service or artificial intelligence models, participation will be entirely optional and based on your affirmative consent. Such access is limited to personnel with a legitimate business need and is subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.
4.5. AI Providers
Esse may use one or more third-party artificial intelligence providers to help generate Outputs. Information submitted to those providers is processed solely to provide the functionality you request and is subject to contractual confidentiality, security, and data protection obligations where applicable. Esse does not sell your Inputs or private conversations to third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

We may share your information with: (a) service providers that help us operate the Service, including cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics, user support, and artificial intelligence providers; (b) professional advisors, auditors, or insurers; (c) government authorities or other parties when required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the Service; and (d) a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets. We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you for business, research, or analytical purposes.
6. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with or rely upon Third-Party Services, including artificial intelligence providers, payment processors, cloud infrastructure, analytics platforms, authentication providers, and productivity tools. When you choose to connect a Third-Party Service to your Account, we may collect and process information made available through that service as necessary to provide the requested functionality. Your use of any Third-Party Service remains subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policies.
7. Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember your preferences, authenticate users, analyze usage, improve performance, and enhance your experience. We may also use third-party analytics providers to help us understand how users interact with the Service. You can control certain cookies through your browser settings, although disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect the security and integrity of the Service. When information is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it in accordance with our data retention practices and applicable law.
9. Security
We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised Privacy Policy.
